Update: Show extended!
Well, we had such a wonderful time last weekend for the show, that we are extending the hours due to customer demand. The Gallery and Studio is open every weekend until Christmas, 10-4pm daily. This is a good opportunity to see previous student work and inquire about The New Winter 2010 classes. A warm welcome to everyone. The daily draw for "The Riding School" Ltd edition Print continues. Last week's winners are Marianne Franklin and Elena Dimitria. Congratulations! As well, The Charity Art Auction continues with generous donations from friends and fellow artists including Susan Menzies, Ernie Welcher, Alexa Scott and Julia Mulholland . The proceeds will benefit The Alliston Humane Society to help build a new shelter.
The Christmas Show
Please come celebrate the 2nd annual Christmas Show & Sale. Sat. & Sun. Nov. 28 & 29 10 - 4 daily. Featuring the 1st ever Charity Art Auction. Original drawings and paintings by friends, students and a few celebrity artists, such as Susan Menzies. Most are priced at $25.00 and the artist's identity is a mystery until the buyer turns the piece over to reveal the name. Proceeds to The Alliston Humane Society to help build a new shelter. A great way to own a valuable work of art and a great cause.
Also featured is a daily draw for the Ltd. Edition Print "The Riding School" valued at $100.00 unframed. Recent work by Helen Marioncu and guest artists. Register for new Winter 2010 art classes. Christmas goodies and cheer. Everyone is welcome.

The South Simcoe Arts Council has awarded my entry into it's annual Arts Festival juried competition First Prize in the Two Dimensional Art category. My work was judged in the "Art on Main" event during the month of May. Artist and stores are partnered together along main streets in the towns of Aiiliston, Cookstown, Beeton and Tottenham. My work was displayed in the store front window of Will Silks General Store in Cookstown. During the guided Art Walk I also gave a live painting demonstration and answered questions about my work. Thanks to Laurie, proprietor of Will Silks, for donating a beautiful venue in her antique shop to display my paintings and to the Arts Council for their support of the arts in New Tecumseth as well as the Rotary Club of Alliston for their donation of my award.
My student Miguel Chavez in the Portfolio Development course at Humber College has just been accepted to the Ontario College of Art & Design, McMaster University and University of Victoria, B.C. Decisions, Decisions! If you have tried but failed to gain acceptance at a post secondary institution, give me a call - I can help you put together a professional presentation.

UPDATE Dec. 01 2008. Well, the Studio Opening was a great success with an especially large turnout on Sunday Nov.30 . Several paintings were sold to happy clients, in particular the signature original painting that appeared in my poster. "Liberty Act" was sold to Yasushi Enami and will be heading to Japan in a couple of years. Congratulations! I received a great deal of feedback regarding art classes and scheduling - always helpful to hear what future students want. So, check out the Art Classes page for details. Thanks to everyone who turned out to help us celebrate!
